Dispersal of time and trauma in postmodern novel: Slaughterhouse-Five

Wars cause trauma and disruption of temporal sequencing, leading to fragmentation memory in survivors. This leads negative changes the victims' posttraumatic relationships character traits. Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five (1969) is a novel about war which WWII satirized with use nonlinear narrative post-war traumatic self. The presents reader how an innocent man survives drastic atmosphere by chance his life after both playful critical manner. Although broadly delineates theme destructiveness war, specifically Vonnegut draws attention distorted traumatized young ironic stance. Thereby, presenting opportunity delve into mind compulsory conditions temporality liminality are abolished, turns play that reflects joy suffering owing collapse sequence time.
